VC222 approved 29 September 2022, changes the Victoria Planning Provisions and all planning schemes in Victoria to facilitate projects that support the 2026 Commonwealth Games; and, supporting the co-location of new government primary schools with kindergartens.

Amendment VC222 changes Clause 52.30 (State projects) of the Victoria Planning Provisions and all planning schemes to support the 2026 Commonwealth Games (Games) by enabling the Minister for Planning to decide that a project that supports the Games, or that supports the reuse or redevelopment of a Games development after the Games have concluded, is a state project to which the exemption from planning scheme requirements in Clause 52.30 applies.

The amendment changes Clause 19.02-2S (Education facilities) of the Victoria Planning Provisions and all planning schemes to implement the Victorian Governments commitment to ensure every new government primary school has a complete kindergarten on its grounds or right next door.
